The team at Nelson Dentistry loves Missoula! We feel very lucky to live, work and play in such a vibrant community. One of our goals for 2018 is to immerse ourselves more within Missoula through acts of community service. Earlier this month, Nelson Dentistry was proud to donate a year’s worth of toothbrushes, toothpaste, and floss for the kids at Missoula Youth Homes.
Nelson Dentistry in the Missoula Community
Here’s some background on the Youth Homes for those of you who don’t know much about the organization. The mission of Missoula Youth Homes is “To help every youth feel safe, have a sense of belonging and find a place to call home.” Their vision is “To provide an array of services to support children and families of Western Montana, regardless of their ability to pay.” Youth Homes opened their first group home in Missoula in 1972. Since then the organization has grown with the needs of the community. Youth Homes now serves 150 kids and families. They operate nine group homes in three Western Montana communities.
They have a strong foster care, adoption program and wilderness treatment program. Youth Homes is currently expanding their services to offer the same support to bio-families that they have provided to substitute families throughout the years. It takes a group of very special people to do this work. This organization changes lives by helping the children they support feel stronger and have more faith in themselves and the adults around them.
As you can see from this photo, the team at Nelson Dentistry was thrilled to donate dental products. Our patients will recognize the faces of Lynnea, Dr. Nelson, Brianna, Kirah, and Ayla. Youth Home Development Coordinator Jennifer Wirth were on hand to accept our donation. The Youth Homes organization plays a vital role in our community. We encourage you to reach out to the organization and find out how you can also help their commendable mission. Give us a call to learn more.
