The Nelson Dentistry team had a great time in May volunteering at the Missoula Food Bank & Community Center! We spent a couple of hours sorting dry and wet goods that had been collected at a recent food drive. The food we sorted will feed about 200 people!!

Nelson Dentistry Volunteers at Missoula Food Bank & Community Center

Whenever we volunteer at the Missoula Food Bank & Community Center, we are reminded of what an important role the facility plays in our community. Last year over 26,242 men, women, and children were served in their store. That number does not count all of those who benefitted from their food outreach programs. Overall, the Missoula Food Bank serves 1 in 6 people in
Missoula County. That is incredible to us. So, if you are looking to give back to the community, we highly recommend considering the Missoula Food Bank. There are a variety of options from donating, to becoming an advocate, or volunteering at their beautiful new facility on Wyoming Street. They have numerous volunteer options, from food pack programs to in-store
positions.

The Missoula Food Bank & Community Center’s mission is to lead the movement to end hunger in the community through activism, volunteerism and healthy food for all. The Missoula Food Bank was established in 1982 as a volunteer effort, delivering boxes of groceries from the trunks of cars to the doorsteps of those in need. As Missoula has grown, so too has hunger,
and because of the generosity of this community, Missoula Food Bank & Community Center has continued to address food insecurity in our neighborhoods with empathy, equity, and dignity. Their store program remains a safe and welcoming place for anyone in the community who may be in need of a little help with food. Missoula Food Bank & Community Center
began serving 100 families each month, they now provide over 7,000 monthly services.
